James Acres is an artist, educator, and developer from Ottawa, Canada. He has a keen interest real-time rendering and the marriage of design and technology. Within his projects, James seeks to create interactions and experiences that are familiar yet present the unexpected. A believer in the sharing of knowledge and ideas, he does so through hosting workshops, contributing to open-source projects, and instructing as a professor in the BIT IMD program at Algonquin College.
Recent projects include a live visuals performance system for use in Peter Gabriel’s Back to Front concert tour, visuals for a modern rendition of Julius Caesar, and an installation for SXSW 2014.
