Paul Skinner (Tellart)
Paul Skinner graduated in 2006 with first class honors in MediaLab Arts, which formed part of i-DAT, the University of Plymouth’s lab for creative research, experimentation and innovation across digital art, science and technology. During this time his main area of inquiry was embodied interaction, and the philosophical teleologies that underpin embodied interaction. He was commended with a Europrix Top Talent award, and also awarded i-DAT’s top recognition of achievement.
After working as an R&D hacker and developer in a digital production studio, Paul moved into advertising with the goal of shaping projects in their formative stages. During his 4 year tenure with independent global advertising agency Wieden + Kennedy, he contributed creatively, strategically and technically on interactive projects for many international clients such as Nike, Nokia, Heineken, Prada, and Honda.
After growing the discipline and a team of creative technologists in the London office, Paul moved to W+K Amsterdam where he held the position of Creative Technology Director, responsible for growth and innovation across all clients. While in Amsterdam, Paul also co-curated This Happened [http://www.thishappened.org/], a series of events focusing on the stories behind interaction design projects.
In 2013 Paul joined Tellart in Amsterdam and led the creation of the Museum of Future Government Services, a large-scale immersive experience commissioned by the Prime Minister’s Office of the United Arab Emirates. Forming part of the UAE Government Summit, visitors experienced an interactive ‘design fiction’ portrayal of several proposed Government Services of the near future.
Paul is now based in New York, leading projects for Tellart around the world.
