South Kiosk

Ben James founded the project space South Kiosk in collaboration with curator Dave Charlesworth in 2013. Based in Peckham, London, the space was set-up to focus on the work of artists who explore the impact of technological change and that which is left behind. Since opening, South Kiosk has collaborated with artists including Felicity Hammond, Dominic Hawgood, Emma Charles, Polly Tootal, James Bulley and Ryan Moule. Alongside South Kiosk, Ben maintains his own artist practice and is currently working on a 16mm film shot in Kazakhstan exploring the morality of technology. He also founded and directs the Jotta Studio in collaboration with Central Saint Martins. In his talk, Ben will be looking back at some of the projects and shows that have taken place at South Kiosk, touching on both the concepts that drove them and the eventual physical manifestation of works in the space.
